Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Miami County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be kept as needed to prepare and deliver a response. It remains within the site team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which pages are visited most and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner service
- Finding and correcting performance or technical problems
- Understanding which pages are useful and which need improvement
- Operating the site and keeping pages responsive
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Miami County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of dockets or personal case-record data. It provides general directions to the Miami County District Court, Clerk of the District Court, municipal courts, and Kansas CaseSearch. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices govern information entered there. Those practices are beyond this site's control, so review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Kansas Judicial Branch, Miami County offices, legal-aid resources, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to track activity across websites for targeted advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure, however, so the site cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, it will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary based on where a visitor lives and the law that applies. Kansas court-record access is separately governed by the Kansas Open Records Act and Kansas Supreme Court Rules 22 and 24. Those authorities govern access to official records, not visitor data held by this private site. Subject to applicable privacy law, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
